Remote, Diverse, and Exceptional
Farquhar Atoll is the southernmost atoll in the Seychelles, located roughly 700 km southwest of Mahé. This remote destination is widely regarded as one of the finest saltwater fly fishing locations on the planet, known for its unmatched biodiversity and pristine flats.
Spanning 170km², the atoll stretches 18 km North to South and 9 km East to West, with a large lagoon that allows easy skiff access to expansive flats, channels, and surf zones. Anglers can expect thrilling opportunities to target species like Giant Trevally including the legendary bird-eating GTs—Bumphead Parrotfish, Milkfish, Triggerfish, Bonefish and a range of other exotic game fish..
Farquhar Atoll offers one of the most diverse and exciting saltwater fly fishing experiences in the world. Its combination of shallow flats and offshore waters allows anglers to target an impressive range of species, from Bonefish and Permit to Triggerfish, Bumphead Parrotfish, and Giant Trevally. Notably, Farquhar is one of the few places where Bumphead Parrotfish can be targeted on the flats, often spotted in visible shoals with their distinctive blue tails.
The fishing season runs from early September when the infamous bird-eating GTs become active through April, before the southeast trade winds return. The lodge accommodates up to 10 anglers per week on a shared basis.
Beyond the flats, Farquhar also delivers world-class offshore fly fishing for species like Sailfish, Wahoo, Yellowfin and Dogtooth Tuna and Groupers, making it an ideal destination for those looking to tick multiple species off their list.
Nestled along the edge of the Farquhar lagoon, the Guest House offers a serene, minimalist escape in six standalone chalets. Each unit is air-conditioned and furnished with either twin or double beds, a private bathroom with both indoor and open-air showers, and essential comforts with 24-hour solar power.
A central shared space brings guests together with a well-stocked bar and relaxed dining area. Meals combine island-grown produce and freshly caught seafood, blending Creole flavors with global influences. Snorkeling equipment is available for exploring the vibrant marine life nearby. From sunset gatherings to rare wildlife moments, every day at Farquhar immerses you in the unspoiled rhythm of island life.
